10 Video Games You Won't Believe Share The Same Universe
2. Kane & Lynch And Hitman
Kane & Lynch and Hitman are both really violent franchises, even if the latter prefers to create bloodshed in a more sneaky and subtle way. However, deadly mayhem is not the only thing those two games have in common; they also share the same universe.
This link was first hinted at in Hitman: Blood Money. In the game, Agent 47 could pick up a newspaper with a report about Kane and Lynch escaping from prison transport and the police trying to find them but eventually calling off the search.
This tiny reference would remain a simple Easter egg in the world of Hitman until the release of Absolution. In this game, instead of a newspaper report, Kane and Lynch made actual physical appearances during 47's missions. The duo appeared multiple times at different points of the game, and the player could interact with them or even kill them.
Those weren't just brief cameos, either, as Kane had a full cutscene dedicated to him, which you could trigger by instigating a bar fight, and Lynch could be framed for destroying garden gnomes at a gun range and be forced into an argument with an employee.
