10 Video Games You’ll Still Be Playing Long Into 2015

5. Super Smash Bros.

A lot has been said about Smash Bros.' credentials as a serious fighting game (or lack thereof). Honestly though, it really doesn't matter; "proper" fighting game or not, Super Smash Bros. is always good fun. The latest in the series is no exception and there's even a portable version this time around. Thankfully, Nintendo still values the 3DS so on-the-go Smash Bros. isn't a half-baked, feature-stripped port - it's ideal for short, sweet blasts of Smash action. There's plenty of new characters to experiment with and learn (including Mega Man and Pit) but, as with every Smash Bros. release, the fine-tuned gameplay also means classic characters need to be remastered too. Great news then - the practice modes are still entertaining and educational in equal measure. Local multiplayer is still where Smash Bros. performs best but Nintendo have finally embraced the online world; the Wii U version of Smash Bros. happily features none of the mysterious lag which plagued Brawl's performance online. Whether played competitively with friends or solo with an itch to unlock everything (seriously, good luck with that), either version of Super Smash Bros. is going to dominate schedules for the forthcoming year.

I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
