10 Video Games You’ll Still Be Playing Long Into 2015
3. Grand Theft Auto V Remastered
Rockstar's skill in creating breath-taking open worlds is fully exercised in the phenomenal Grand Theft Auto V. Few game worlds feel as alive as San Andreas and the remastered next-gen versions of the game add to the effect wonderfully. Adding a first-person perspective to the game doesn't sound like a necessary leap forward for the series but it is an exciting way to play-through the game - walking the streets of Los Santos on foot and up close is the best way to appreciate the smaller, finer touches that Rockstar applied to the game. Driving might be a bit iffy in first-person (it's a real love it or hate it scenario) but firefights are made more exciting by the limited field of vision; keeping an eye on the minimap is essential in order to keep from being blindsided. Of course, the first-person stuff is all optional, but Grand Theft Auto V is a game well worth revisiting anyway. The story is still top-notch, with the three protagonist system working well (arguably, it needs to be implemented in every game in the series from now on) and the expanded GTA Online makes great use of the improved hardware of the Xbox One and PS4. Many may decide that one run-through GTA V's story was enough, but the ever-changing and updating GTA Online (heists, anyone?) is best experienced on next-gen consoles - it's definitely something that will grow in popularity in 2015.
I have an addiction to achievements, a craving for new bands and a dream to become Captain America. I once finished second in a Mario Kart 7 tournament so I'm kind of a big deal.
