10 Video Games You're Secretly A Fan Of

4. DmC: Devil May Cry

Though Devil May Cry 2 is easily the worst game in the series, Capcom's ill-advised 2013 reboot receives a greater measure of disdain from fans if only because it sought to needlessly reinvent a franchise that had everything going for it.

As evidenced by its edgier "DmC" title, the new Devil May Cry aimed to modernise the character action series for a new generation, complete with a sexier, more obnoxious "emo" Dante, in the hope of boosting sales.

And though these changes were rightly rubbished by fans, DmC's core gameplay and aesthetic work were actually quite excellent, even if many simply refused to admit it, blinded by their prevailing rage.

Though the recent Devil May Cry V mercifully brought the series back to its roots, DmC was hardly the botched diversion many still insist it to be.

You'll probably want to skip the cutscenes, but the central combat is as deliciously over-the-top and fluid as it's ever been.
