10 Video Games The Fans Saved From Their Own Developers

4. Knights Of The Old Republic II Is Given The Story It Never Had

The story of Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords is a sad one. Its developer Obsidian made a pretty noble effort to develop a worthy follow-up to the classic original, but pressure from publishers forced them to rush the game. Ultimately what we got was a game plagued by missing content. But what was left was still very good - so good in fact that it inspired a group of gamers to actually restore the vast amount of missing content. In one of the more ambitious modding efforts ever undertaken, several gaming groups over the years have worked to finish every missing story and gameplay element. The sheer amount of the content could almost be an entirely new game on its own. While legal problems and other issues have prevented the teams from completing this project in full, thanks to the fans' efforts, you are able to play a version of The Sith Lords that isn€™t crushed to death under the weight of deadline compromises.
