3. Digital 'Duct Tape' Makes DOOM 3 The Game It Was Meant To Be
It was hard to praise Doom 3 for everything it did right when you could barely see any of it. ID Software made the questionable design decision to make Doom 3s flashlight an independent item. The need to switch between it and your gun on the fly is supposed to make the game scarier but ends up just being the kind of annoyance that ruins the actual fun you are supposed to be having. Thankfully, modders fixed this issue shortly after the games release with the infamous Duct Tape mod that allowed players to finally see what the hell they were doing.
