10 Violent Video Game Moments That Were Incredibly Satisfying
3. Theseus' Door Slam - God Of War 2
God of War has become known for a heap of signature traits, one of which not only being bucketloads of gore, but also letting continue to utterly demolish certain boss's faces, bodies and everything else after you beat them. One of the newer examples is thwacking the teeth out of Hercules in part three after you finally take him down, but an earlier instance of GoW's pioneering quick-time event gameplay put to the most visceral use is in God of War 2 when you defeat Theseus to gain access to a chamber from far earlier in the game. As Kratos is a fairly... incensed shall we say, individual, returning to this area after you've done a few huge chunks of progression just to unlock the interior itself meant we were all feeling a bit of pent-up rage throughout the battle. And sure you could pick pretty much any boss or annoying enemy as your most satisfying moment, but for just balls-out aggression Kratos jamming the dude's head in the door with his attacks mapped to mashing an attack button is one of the series' simple pleasures.
