10 Ways Diablo 4 Is Insulting Players
8. Repetitive Gameplay
Considering its vast open-world and litany of foes, monsters, dungeons to explore and quests to embark on, few players would expect 'Diablo IV' to get repetitive.
However, a variety of relatively minor flaws have left many slapping the new Diablo entry with the dreaded monotonous label. For one thing, the world of Diablo IV is so big that it can be easy to wind up journeying through it silently for some time, failing to come across anything major to interact with and, in the process, giving Death Stranding players severe PTSD flashbacks.
The longer one spends on the initially addictive game, the more apparent the general sameness of the game's mechanics and action become. Bar grand-scale boss fights, much of the combat follows a similar formula, gradually declining in intensity as players become more used to the by-the-numbers battles on offer.
Previous Diablo games have displayed linear gameplay with a fixed progression as well, making repetitive gameplay a recurring issue. Considering the large amount of time spent on its development, as well as general advancements in gaming over the past decade, however, Diablo IV's failure to address this flaw has proved disappointing for many.
