10 Ways EA Can Vastly Improve FIFA’s Career Mode

9. Players Choose Their Manager's History

In Footy Manager, players are offered the chance to give themselves some context. This boils down to deciding whether or not your man is a world-travelled Champions League success story, Championship-level grunter or has zero playing experience at all. It adds some lore to each campaign, and it's a deceptively cool addition.

FIFA has nothing of the sort. Every manager, even the crusty old templates on the selection screen, is given the same treatment. They're rookies, and the media are shocked and stunned that a Premier League club has taken a punt on them. It's old news now, and it means there's little variation between different Careers.

Being able to pick how much experience your manager has would make more sense. Maybe he's won multiple titles across Europe and now wants to add that Prem to his trophy cabinet, or maybe he is a fresh face yet to prove he can handle the heat at the top.

It'd be nice to decide that, and have it shape board expectations coming in.
