10 Ways EA Can Vastly Improve FIFA’s Career Mode

4. Greater Emphasis On The Business Side Of Football

The whole business side of football is poorly represented in FIFA. Career Mode, in EA's mind, is more about playing matches and winning trophies, not deciding ticket prices, selling new kits or coaxing more money from sponsors.

It's a bit of a missed opportunity, really.

Older FIFA titles did have some of these elements. Up until (maybe) FIFA 11 or 12, budding business minds could squeeze more cash from fans for marquee games or show gestures of good faith by lowering the gate prices for 'B' or 'C' level cup matches against smaller teams. It wasn't much, but it added a bit of immersion to the mode that's lacking in today's games.

If EA were feeling particularly brave, they could add in stadium changes for the generic grounds they've already made. What's to stop Sheffield Wednesday, for example, from turning their phoney Hillsborough/Ivy Lane into a bigger temple for their fans?
