10 Ways Nintendo Dropped The Ball At E3 2018

3. What's The Labo's Future?

The absence of Labo was a little strange. It feels like Nintendo themselves have released it, forgotten it, and aren't really talking about it at the moment. The same goes for specialist gaming media outlets, too. The build up coverage was generally quite positive on Labo, high entry price notwithstanding. But since then, there's nothing really new to say.

Given the huge versatility of the Joy-Cons and the total unique nature of Labo (not to mention the insane creations seen around the world), you'd think Nintendo of all people would be dangling new software and cardboard creations in our collective faces.

If we can have a motorbike throttle and handlebars, then why not a simplified flight stick or other vehicle motion controls? If there's a piano, why not other instruments? How about an improvised theremin?

Labo needs to keep the momentum going rather than rely on users to provide all the interesting uses for it. Nintendo are always inventive. Labo should be the vehicle to keep their software ideas fresh: we've seen Link's Crossbow Training in the past with a plastic zapper: why not have Link's Labo Fishing?!
