Having a place to call home is an underrated part of every open world game and something that has been included in many Grand Theft Auto titles. Whilst Red Dead Redemption did attempt to pave the way for it with the Safehouse system, it was very limited in what you could actually do once inside, and didn't feel much like a home.

Beyond replenishing your ammunition and saving your game, they didn't serve much of a purpose, and the focus was fixed on the rest of the open world.

In Grand Theft Auto V, you have a few different Safe Houses that can be used for each character, and whilst that is a novel idea that breeds character, it would be great to see a huge safe zone that houses your entire posse in both the campaign or the multiplayer of RDR 2.

This may come in the form of a huge fortified settlement which acts as your base of operations, perhaps the place where you setup heists - much like the apartments in GTA Online.

Further, much like in GTA V it would be great to see a system where you can purchase property, but in the case of Red Dead, it would be plots of land to till, or a mine to excavate which in return helps you afford bigger and better heists and fortifications.

In Grand Theft Auto V it was a simple purchase and then you never visit again, but it would be nice to see your posse defending your trading outposts from bandits to keep the cash flowing, reflecting the frigid business relations in the Old West.
