10 Ways To Make A Godzilla Video Game That Doesn't Suck
3. An Open World
At first glance Godzilla may not seem like a good candidate for an open world. His size alone presents a huge challenge in terms of creating a world and populating it with things to do. But it is this challenge that, if successfully executed, could result in an amazing game. Open world titles are always brimming with possibilities, and with Godzilla at the centre would make the whole thing unique, even amongst others in the genre. As Godzilla you could be given the freedom to explore Japan and the surrounding islands, as well as a large portion of the Pacific Ocean. The addition of oceanic exploration is important, as Godzilla is an aquatic creature that feels most at home in the ocean. He could even have his own lair that serves as a home base. And naturally this open world needs to be populated with an assortment of enemies, both manmade and monster in nature, for you to fight as you explore, which can be easily explained by the narrative. The goal of this ambitious idea would of course be to make you feel like Godzilla on a scale no other video game has before. Even if it served as merely window dressing between story missions, it would still go a long way towards making a Godzilla video game that stands out from the rest.
