10 Ways To Make A Superman Video Game That Won't Suck

5. Bizarro's World

Superman Video Game
DC Comics

Although Superman is dedicated to saving the city and protecting the people, when you’ve got an open-world game with a character who has nearly god-like power, there are going to be players who want to just cut loose and destroy everything in sight. GTA built a legacy on that simple fact.

Fortunately, there’s a mode for that. Again, taking a page from Superman Returns, this would be a mode called Bizarro’s World. Instead of playing as Superman, in this mode you’d play as Bizarro, a twisted, dim-witted version of Superman who thinks he’s doing good but is actually causing harm.

Bizarro’s World would give the option of either just rampaging through the open world of Metropolis or going on missions where you have to try and save people but end up harming them instead. This would be similar to the recent Hulk games, Ultimate Destruction and The Incredible Hulk, where you can just level everything around you.

Perhaps even a visit to the Bizarro World, where everything is backwards from the core universe. You could even play a story mode in Bizarro World, where the entire goal is to destroy the planet, much like Alan Moore’s classic Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow or the episode of Superman: The Animated Series where Bizarro attempted to rebuild Krypton on Earth before destroying it.
