10 Ways To Make A Superman Video Game That Won't Suck

4. Clark Kent Mode

Superman Video Game

The idea of playing as a superhero’s secret identity might have some people rolling their eyes. Both The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the video game adaptation of the first Hulk movie were criticized for their sequences where you had to play as Peter Parker and Bruce Banner, respectively.

But Clark Kent’s day job is as an investigative reporter. And there have been many situations where Clark has had to use his powers covertly in order to avoid outing his secret identity. This serves as the inspiration for Clark Kent missions in the game.

Trailing Lois Lane on her investigations into the criminal underworld, Clark has to keep his powers secret from his inquisitive partner (who wouldn’t know his secret identity in this game). That means this would be a kind of stealth mode. Use your powers to get rid of obstacles while Lois’ back is turned. If she sees you, then it triggers an animation where Lois tears open Clark’s shirt and reveals the Superman symbol beneath, resulting in a failure.

Or if trespassing somewhere he’s not supposed to be for a story, Clark has to use his superhuman senses to keep track of any potential threats and get out of sight by hovering close to the ceiling or use his heat vision to trigger things in the environment to distract potential threats.
