10 Ways To Make Sure The Call Of Duty Movie Doesn't Suck

9. For Gods Sake Don't Adapt Call Of Duty: Ghosts

There have been no details about what the potential storyline of the Call Of Duty movie will be, but it seems like a safe bet that it will take elements from some of the games. The single player campaigns have never featured a particularly strong story though. The best of them have been pulpy and fun with likeable characters, but the plots are generally B-movie filler to get players from one setpiece to the next. The most recent games have generally neglected the campaign in favour of the multiplayer and zombie modes, with Call Of Duty: Ghosts in particular being singled out for its lacklustre main campaign. There€™s a reason for that. Despite an intriguing set-up Ghosts is a colourless slog through bland action scenes and a story so flimsy the game seems embarrassed to be telling it. The characters are macho blank slates and the only one that produces any emotion at all is the dog, and he leaves about halfway through. For fans the Modern Warfare games produced the best group of characters like Captain Price, Soap and Griggs so if they do plan to adapt the games they should start there. They should also do what most Call Of Duty fans do already and pretend Ghosts didn€™t happen.
