10 Weirdest Video Game Boss Battles

Otherwise known as that time Mario went inside a giant clockwork version of himself and killed the three swine brethren who lived inside the head  of the aforementioned clockwork Mario. 

I mean, Super Mario Land 2 is already a really weird Mario game, with some genuinely unusual enemies that we haven't ever seen anywhere else in the franchise, but the three little pigs take the cake. 

After entering the clockwork Mario (through the door in the left shoe, of course) Mario can find the pigs waiting for him each in their own houses. One of brick, one of straw, and one of wood in reference to the old story. Each pig takes its turn to have a pop at Mario while the siblings look on. 

Of course, the last pig to attack essentially gets to watch his two brothers get trampled to death under the boot of a plumber, Mario succeeding where wolves before him had failed. Enraged, the final pig flies at Mario at top speeds, making for an incredibly challenging (but still infinitely unusual) boss battle.
