10 Wonders Of The World You Can Explore In Video Games

7. Colossus Of Rhodes - God of War II

Many wonders of the world have long-since been destroyed and/or lost to time, so the various mediums of entertainment are now the only way to experience them.

One such landmark is the Colossus of Rhodes, which stood overlooking the sea on the Greek island which shares its name until the statue's destruction following an earthquake in 226 B.C.

Or, according to the story of God of War II, Kratos tore the living statue to pieces with the Blade of Olympus before being killed by Zeus himself. A much more epic end to this legendary piece.

This is technically cheating since you don't explore the Colossus and rather beat the living toffee out of him, but considering it's one of the original Seven Wonders and this is the only game to truly experience the size and power of it, it was a no-brainer to put him on this list. And given that it's one of the best opening bosses in video game history, it's a wonder in more ways than one.
