10 Worst Areas In Dark Souls
7. Iron Passage
Iron Passage in The Crown of The Iron King DLC for Dark Souls 2 has become infamous for all the wrong reasons. For people who criticise DS2, it was everything that there was to dislike about the second game in one place and at its most frustrating.
Mobs of high damaging enemies in tight corridors attacked aggressively, while range-based attacks flew in at the same time from Possessed Armours and Mages, who were located in areas that couldn't be accessed from the lower portions.
You could have spells cast on you that made you over-encumbered, making evasion and rolling far more difficult, and your reward for beating three rooms of these enemies was a chance to go up against the Blue Smelter Demon, a boss that was no joke.
There were two NPC summons available at the start, and while they each increased the defences of the Demon by 100%, it could be worthwhile to have the support through the first portions. Best advice? Short of killing all enemies twelve times so they stop re-spawning, just run through to the boss and take your chances.
Hardly peak Dark Souls gameplay, which might explain why it was so disliked.
