10 Worst Games Of 2018 (So Far)
7. Fear Effect Sedna
Fear Effect Sedna is actually far less interesting than the above screenshot suggests. Though fans of the cult PS1 action franchise have remake Fear Effect Reinvented to look forward to in the near-future, this isometric strategy actioner is a terrible stop-gap in the mean-time.
Though Fear Effect Sedna does capture some of the series' original atmosphere with its neon-licked, cel-shaded cut-scenes and pulsing electronic score, that's pretty much where the praise ends.
Even if you can ignore the laughable voice acting and nonsense plot, mechanically the game is a frustrating bore due to appalling AI, some hideous difficulty spikes and an abundance of glitches.
It feels like a straight-to-video rendition of the classic - though undeniably flawed - original games, but fingers are crossed that Reinvented will soon enough serve as a much-needed palate cleanser.
