10 Worst Overwatch Characters - Ranked
8. Widowmaker
Backstory: Widowmaker’s character concept is perhaps one of the best representations of the word “fine” in recent memory. It’s just alright. It’s not bad, but not hugely spectacular either. 5/10
Abilities: Overwatch is a game about working as a team, whether that be a full six players, or in smaller groups to accomplish different strategic objectives. More often than not, Widowmaker feels a little out of touch with the rest of the team, as she’s best positioned far away, taking one enemy down at a time. This wouldn’t be such a bad thing, but the abilities she does have lack impact.
She has a venom mine, which you just have to sort of place elsewhere and hope someone on very low health walks by, and a grappling hook (useful for ascending within moment’s notice but nothing else). Her ult reveals all enemies on the map for a short period. Conceptually it’s cool, but you’re not often in a situation where it’s of much real use. 3/10
Design: She looks cool, just a little creepy, and she doesn’t look like someone you’d particularly want to start a fight with. She succeeds in this regard, and she has a few nice re-colours.
Whilst I’m not particularly a fan of her other skins, plenty of other people seem to love them. 7/10
Score: 5/10
