When it was revealed that Battlefront was only going to feature six playable heroes (plus two special aerial combat vehicles), there was a collective worry that DICE's new game would be paring down a once-lauded aspect of the game considerably compared to the other entries in the franchise. Thankfully, when the beta went live it was apparent that playing as both Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader was a blast. Force choking your way through enemies felt amazing, and the sheer power rush you gained from playing as these two characters had the potential to completely change the flow of any match. Unfortunately though, the rest of the hero cast left quite a bit to be desired. While there are some stand-outs available (the over-powered Boba Fett, in particular), the likes of The Emperor and Princess Leia pale in comparison. Without the larger choice you'll no doubt end up picking one particular hero from each faction and stick with them for the majority of your playtime, with the lack of incentive to switch up your approach killing the game's sense of variety and discovery.
