10 Worst Video Game Boss Battles Of 2018
4. Fergal - Vampyr
Though an ambitious AA title published by Focus Interactive in June of this year, Vampyr suffered from some major issues at launch. The most notable problem stemmed from the fact that, though the game challenged players to risk killing some quest givers in exchange for upgrades and XP, there was no reason to do so because the gameplay was much too easy.
This has since been amended via a patch, but that doesn’t change the fact that, on the standard difficulty setting, most of the game’s bosses are outrageously meak. The obvious standout of the bunch being the Incredible Hulk/Vampire combo Fergal, who seems to talk the talk but was otherwise totally unintimidating.
There is very little to distinguish this boss encounter from any of the game’s regular enemies, and some common NPCs encountered on the streets of Whitechapel are vastly more threatening. Built up to be some sort of unstoppable force with much more vampiric experience than the player, this enemy crumbles like a pile of dry leaves.
Players who built there character around stealth instead of all-out combat may find this fight slightly more difficult, but, either way, Fergal doesn’t live up to the hype.
