10 Worst Video Game Boss Battles Of 2018
3. Wanderer Seth - Metal Gear Survive
Metal Gear lore is about as impenetrable as it could possibly be for newcomers, and, for those with little to no experience with the franchise, the goings-on in Metal Gear Survive are a little too convoluted to understand. The game is also so woefully terrible that few really care about the plot to being with.
Wanderer Seth is the only real mandatory boss encounter found in Metal Gear Survive, and rightly so—open-world survival crafting games aren’t typically known for their boss battles. With that in mind, it would have been a better move on Konami’s part to leave this one on the cutting room floor.
Hiding behind cover and plinking away at Seth just isn’t fun at all. What’s worse, the AI is absolutely brain dead, and he can frequently be found firing in the complete opposite direction of the player. Nobody wants to have to stop and craft things while fighting a boss in MGS, either, and yet here we are.
It’s upsetting to see what has become of the Metal Gear franchise. The series used to be rife with great bosses like The Sorrow, the End, or Psycho Mantis. Alas, Kojima has moved on, and times have changed.
