10 Worst Video Games Based On Comic Books

3. Marvel’s Uncanny X-Men

If you look beyond the fact that hardware limitations existed on the NES in 1989, it's easy to find a lot of outstanding titles on the system. Sometimes it's difficult to do that when comparing a classic title to modern ones, but the NES had a lot of great games.

Marvel's Uncanny X-Men could have been a good game despite the graphical limitations of the time, but it simply wasn't. Once again. LJN came along, picked up a license to a beloved group of characters, and churned out a horrible facsimile of what makes the comic book characters fun.

The top-down view meant that every character pretty much looked like the same amorphous blob. They are barely distinguishable due to their colors, while the level design is uninspired and frustrating. It doesn't look bad because it was designed in the '80s — it looks bad because it was designed that way.

Players will wander around aimlessly while taking out scores of similarly-looking enemies in repetitive gameplay that could drive most people insane. It's often described as one of the worst games ever released on the NES, while others simply call it the worst game they've ever played.
