10 Worst Video Games Of 2019 (So Far)

3. Jump Force

Jump Force
Spike Chunsoft

How do you mess this up.

Easily the best premise for a game, hell, the best premise for an entertainment property in history (the idea of mashing all the most recognisable anime characters into one fighting game with you at the centre as a customisable protagonist), falls all the way down.

Somehow, gameplay is just.so.bad.

It stands to reason, as despite Spike Chunsoft's hefty legacy, they've never turned in a brawler or fighting game of note. Instead, whilst someone like AKI Corp or Sega's Ryu Ga Gotoku studio would've knocked it out the park, controlling your character here feels terrible, and combos or finishers are very loose and repetitively tied together.

Tack on a story with cutscenes that have static character models and that aforementioned repetition only sets in faster.

Spike have released additional characters, but there's an air of biting off more than they could chew across development and release that pervades the entire experience.
