10 Worst Video Games Of 2024 (So Far)
4. Devil May Cry: Peak Of Combat
Contrary to what the title suggests, this mobile title isn’t the peak of anything.
Yunchang Games' Peak of Combat has a horrendous battle system, laughable cutscenes, sporadic camera, and choppy gameplay. Due to the myriad of invisible walls, the Devil May Cry spin-off feels unfinished. Freezing is such a recurring problem, it comes across as an intentional feature.
Even though a trailer is supposed to highlight the best qualities, the teaser couldn't hide how diabolical Peak of Combat's frame-rate is.
Somehow, it gets worse. Players need to use stamina as currency to progress. Since stamina is offered in teeny-weeny increments, real cash will have to be forked out in order for Dante to make any real headway.
What makes these criticisms worse is the fact Peak of Combat spent an eternity in development. These issues were apparent in the 2019 beta, meaning the developers had half a decade to correct or address them. Based on how abominable the finished product turned out though, it's clear the creators did sod all to make any improvements.
As disappointing as it is to hear, PoC is a PoS.
