10 Worst Xbox One Games With Gold Releases So Far

8. CastleStorm

A game so nice we received it twice. Xbox One users got it first back in May 2015, then it would be available again on the Xbox 360 in December of the same year. It was the first time a game had been given away on both consoles (excluding backwards compatibility) and it certainly wouldn't be the last. CastleStorm, unlike the other more notable games like Tomb Raider and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, was not a game fans were asking for once, let alone twice. Most notably the fact the definitive edition was given away first with the original and "not-so-definitive-edition" being given away second. The game is nothing more than a Angry Birds clone with a few minor tweaks. You can send forth your own army (and by army it's 10 or so soldiers) to fight the impeding army from the enemy castle. The story is far from interesting and offers essentially nothing other than being a springboard to unlock new weapons and upgrades - with over half the weapons being outclassed by one or two specifics. The game has a decent amount of customization but nothing groundbreaking, and gameplay is extremely repetitive, as it's essentially just "destroy the opposing castle before they destroy yours" over and over again. CastleStorm never really feels like anything more than a browser based flash game. There's a strong possibility it may even be based off of a combination of flash games Age of War and Bowmaster: Prelude as much of the same exact music and gameplay shows up in CastleStorm. Truly if this is the case, the flash games did it better.
