7. A World Of Keflings
A city-building, resource management game that centers around the use of your Xbox Live Avatar as your character. Could there be a more uninteresting premise of a game possible? This arcade game was given away in November 2013, and from the start was set up for failure because of the game users had gotten the month prior - Halo 3. Granted at the time Halo 3 was six years old, but A World of Keflings was three. Anything given away after Halo 3 was bound to be met with a universal groan of despair, but to make it A World of Keflings (along side Iron Brigade) almost seemed unfair. It was as if Microsoft had understood it had given away one of its prized possessions and the only way to follow it up was to put members back in their place with a mediocre at best arcade game. At its core, nothing stands out in this game. I struggled to make it past twenty minutes and after I could take no more, was bored and knew there was no saving the game for me, I deleted it and never went back. All the basic aspects of a city-building, resource managing game are there and they don't delve much deeper than the basics. Gameplay is boring, repetitive and tedious. The cutesy design, with help from your Xbox Live Avatar make the game seem like it was made for children, which it might certainly have been.
