10. Vamp Was Originally A Woman
Things always change during a game's development, yet the original design for series-villain Vamp would have been particularly interesting if it ever saw the light of day. Initially a woman, the leather-clad Vamp was eventually changed to the iconic monster we know today after the team decided to introduce Fortune into the Sons of Liberty terrorist cell that chases Raiden throughout the second game. Interestingly though, it doesn't look like they actually changed much about the character other than the gender, which makes Vamp's sexually ambiguous bravado in the second game make a bit more sense in retrospect. Still, judging by the concept designs above, the original idea could have turned out to be more menacing and intimidating than the campy end result.
