It is safe to say that Fallout is one of Bethesda’s flagship franchises and one of the most iconic franchises in all of gaming. Both Fallout 3 and 4 went on to sell over 12 million units each, while other spinoff entries in the franchise like Fallout Shelter and Fallout New Vegas have also enjoyed great financial and critical success.
So when Todd Howard came out at E3 2018 to unveil Fallout 76, fans were naturally excited for a new Fallout game which he claimed would be larger and more detailed world then any of their previous games. He even went so far as to say that everything just works when describing all the new features they were adding to the game.
This of course, would not be the case.
The game was infested with bugs and glitches, resulting in Fallout 76 getting slammed by fans and critics. But the game would also be the subject of a number of controversies.
A data breach of customers personal details, no canvas duffel bags in the special edition and the Nuka Dark Rum bottles being made out of plastic all added to the ever growing dumpster fire that would be remembered as Fallout 76.
