8. "Coming When It’s Ready"
The official teaser trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 back in January of 2013 was enough to capture gamers curiosity. But when it looked like it was about to reveal a release date, the trailer ends by saying it's coming when it's ready.
Everyone interpreted this as a statement of intent by CD Projekt Red that they were not going to rush development of Cyberpunk 2077, and after the success of The Witcher 3, fans were confident that they would be able to deliver another incredible game. Unfortunately, the final product was not what everyone was hoping for.
Despite multiple delays, the game launched in such a buggy and broken state that many players demanded a refund and was even removed from the PlayStation Store as a result.
What made things even worse was when it was revealed that the upper management of CD Projekt Red knew the game was not ready for release and gave it the green light anyway.
CD Projekt Red are still working hard to fix the game and win back gamers' trust, but you can’t help but wonder what would have happened if they had taken their own advice and released the game when it was ready.
