11 Next-Gen Games You Should Be Considering

3. Destiny

destiny Fans have been eagerly awaiting Bungie's latest game for a long time, and it's almost here. Destiny is an always-online, multiplayer shooter that takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where the only-known survivors of a disaster called "the collapse", live on Earth. Earth and its citizens, who all live in one city, are guarded by a celestial body called "The Traveler". The game draws parallels to free-to-play experiences like EVE or Dust 514, but it isn't often a developer of such pedigree takes on a project like this. From the Halo Trilogy developers, Destiny has been of much interest to gamers throughout the world from when the first rumours began to swirl until the first teaser image was released. Fast forward and the game is due for release in 2014. Even though Bungie don't like the game to be called an MMO because they say it isn't like other MMO's, it's less organised with more on-the-wall style matchmaking. As well as this, Bungie say the world will evolve over time, and there is a story that will play out, thus further separating Destiny from other MMO games. Some wonder if Destiny has been built up too highly, that it couldn't possibly live up to expectations, but with stunning graphics and a massive, ever-evolving universe - not world; universe - and gameplay akin to that of Halo, the hype around Destiny seems just.
