11 Reasons Call Of Duty Advanced Warfare Has Saved The Series

9. The Campaign

It's not just the multiplayer that's been given attention. The campaign of Advanced Warfare is tremendous fun, and certainly among the best in the series. Set in 2054, the futuristic setting is refreshingly in comparison to the stale 'modern military shooter' themes that have been prevalent in the series since Modern Warfare until now. The story, while not particularly original or clever, is a lot more cohesive than the usual COD fare, which is in no small part thanks to Kevin Spacey's excellent performance as a villainous CEO, which anchors the plot nicely. As usual, the single player is packed full of explosive set pieces, which help make the 6-8 hours of playtime fly by. It's still linear as ever, and you probably won't remember much about it when it's all finished with, but Advanced Warfare offers the best single-player Call of Duty experience in years.
