5. Forza Horizon 2

The Horizon games are like some hyperactive younger brother to the main Forza's increasingly tired instalments, and as such they've started picking up where the Burnout and older Need for Speed games left off. Horizon 2 is another rip-roaring techno-fuelled blur across colourful locales, winding tracks and satisfyingly-throaty supercars, the end result being the nearest thing to an arcade racer you can get these days. There's a level of "Sure, why the hell not?!" in some the car selections too, giving you everything from Hummers to Pontiac Firebirds, Land Rovers and even a gangster-styled Mercedes Coupe. Throw the lot together with the levity those aforementioned Burnout games used to have (Horizon's titular Festival is pretty much the continuation of DJ Atomica's Crash FM world tour in those games) and you've got the best racer to tide you over until Criterion release another hotly-anticipated instalment in their series.
