Resident Evil's appeal is undoubtedly the sheer terror that it inspires.

Whether it's the Spencer Mansion in Resident Evil, the streets and buildings of Raccoon City, or the remote Spanish village overrun with Los Illuminados, there's no shortage of places you'd do well to steer clear of when arranging a birthday party.

While it's hard to choose just one area of the franchise for this entry, the Island of the fourth entry in the series features a few singularly unsettling locales all clustered together.

Featuring a prison, a bioweapons facility and a cold storage area, plus a horrible operating room, the Island has something new around every corner, and none of it is pleasant.

Add to that the fact that the Island's only inhabitants are infested with Las Plagas, the parasite that is responsible for their murderous rage and impossible longevity, and the place just gets even creepier.

It's also worth noting that the Island is the place we first meet a Regenerador, yeah. I think I'll skip this destination on the tour.
