11 Things We Learned From Tokyo Game Show 2016

6. Ubisoft Want You To Remember The Good Times

It's becoming a trend in the industry to 'reinvigorate' interest in an upcoming project by re-releasing the originals with fancier graphics. THQ Nordic are doing it with Darksiders, Rockstar are about to do it with Red Dead Revolver (in prep for Red Dead 3) and now, Ubisoft are ostensibly yelling, "Remember when we knew what we were doing?? We're doing it again!"

Personally I don't think there's been anywhere near enough time since 2010/11/12 to replay AC 2/Brotherhood/Revelations without remembering them beat for beat, but at least Ubi aren't trying to force another instalment down our throats too soon.

It sort of goes against the notion of taking the series off store shelves in an effort to get people to miss it (thereby demanding its return, Splinter Cell-style), but hopefully this means they're putting their all into whatever Assassin's Creed 2017 turns into.
