11 Upcoming Video Games That Might Be The PS4's Killer App

3. Bloodborne

Release Date: March 24. The Buzz: Dark Souls developers From Software are back with a companion piece of sorts, an action RPG set in a gothic locale which promises more brutal, strategic action, while proving slightly more accessible to less hardcore players. Why It Might Be The Killer App: After The Order: 1886 flopped last week, Bloodborne is the next major PS4 exclusive on the chopping block, and expectations are incredibly high. The gameplay looks wonderfully fluid and gorgeous (just like Dark Souls), but it has the added plus of a lower difficulty level, allowing those who were turned off by the aforementioned series' punishing challenge a chance to enjoy an equivalent (if slightly easier) experience. What they should be aiming for is to capture a zeitgeist like Devil May Cry did back in the PS2 era. Why It Might Not Be: There's always the possibility that the game will go too far in the other direction and end up annoyingly nerfed, though that's not very likely. In honesty, though, the developer's reputation is what's most likely to prevent the game from catching on with the mainstream crowd, because who wants to risk spending £40 on a game that they might find too difficult? The marketing absolutely needs to focus on changing this belief.
