11 Video Games Destined To Be 2018's Biggest Sleeper Hits

8. A Way Out

A Way Out
EA

Of all the games revealed at E3 2017, A Way Out was perhaps the new IP that garnered the most attention. Notable for being entirely centred around split-screen co-op, the ambitious adventure game from the director of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is bucking trends by locking out a single-player option entirely.

Embracing the archaic idea of local multiplayer and centring the whole game around this enforced cooperation, the distinct structure is hopefully going to be more than just an exciting gameplay gimmick, but actually the central ingredient in making A Way Out such an intriguing new property.

With each player being given a distinct role to accomplish in every level, the title will play completely different depending on which character you end up controlling, hopefully resulting in two unique-yet-co-dependent experiences.

In an industry so saturated with the same few genres dominating the charts every month, a developer using the medium's conventions to create something genuinely new could result in EA's upcoming title being the big breakout success of 2018.
