11 Video Games Destined To Be 2018's Biggest Sleeper Hits

5. Metro: Exodus

Despite releasing two stellar shooters for last-generation consoles, 4A Games' Metro series has never been able to break out of its niche corner of the industry.

That's always been a huge shame though, as the story-driven games have championed epic single-player FPS experiences for almost a decade now, long before the likes of Doom and Wolfenstein gained recognition for doing the same thing.

Taking inspiration from survival-horror titles as well as bombastic blockbusters like Call of Duty, the upcoming Exodus looks to be blending those major influences with a sandbox-inspired design and a greater focus on hunting down the beasties of this apocalyptic hellscape.

An Xbox One exclusive, the new instalment in the underrated series is a great get by Microsoft, and will hopefully find a wider audience thanks to the industry's renewed focus on big-budget single-player shooters.
