11 Video Games With Severely Underused Secondary Characters

2. Paxton Fettel - F.E.A.R.

I know, this is a weird one, but let me explain. Fettel is introduced in the very first cut scene rendered in the game, and he keeps us on our toes during the introductory sequence. It's frightening, really, and this character is extremely freaky when it comes to actually facing him on the field. Hell, the only creature scarier than him is Alma herself. However, while Alma does keep a close tab on the protagonist with all the hallucinations and stuff, Fettel is nowhere to be found after the initial confrontation. The very next time the player faces him, he splatters his brains all over the wall. Now, I'm well aware that two scary supernatural entities would be too much for a single game, but this character could have had more screen time. There's something deeply unnerving about him after you see him devouring a scientist, with the Replicas guarding over him. I wanted to see more of him, to learn his motives and just what the hell is wrong with his brain. By the time we met him again, the F.E.A.R. series had been diluted to a rather simplistic shooter with tedious "horror" sequences. And the ability to actually control him didn't bring him out of the light, either.
