11 Video Games That'll Hit You Right In The Childhood
5. WWF No Mercy/Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role
As many will be glad to see we've had to double up this entry to avoid getting bodyslammed through the monitor, as we don't know if you're aware but if you ever try to say one old school wrestling franchise is better than the other, a rogue fan will appear and teach you a thing or two. Back to these phenomenal games though, and the only thing that'll make you choose one over the other would have been console restrictions. Back in the day we couldn't afford to shell out for every possible permutation under the sun just for the sake of a shinier gun texture or what have you. You ended up loving what was right in front of you, but to be honest when the offerings on one side of the fence were two Smackdown games within a year and No Mercy on the other, it was the perfect time to be a wrestling fan. No Mercy featured some of the first wrestler entrances in the genre, which were also part of Smackdown - albeit both of them didn't feature the ring, and instead superstars would walk down in front of their entrance movies like professional Youtubers. With grappling mechanics that at the time comprised of some hard-hitting animation and a roster that meant you could watch each week and take to the games to recreate all your favourites, there would only ever be one other franchise in history that offered the same experience. More on that later though...
