11 Video Games That'll Hit You Right In The Childhood

3. Super Mario 64

Another game-changer, and a pillar of foundation for Nintendo being the king of all game developers. Mario 64 took everything you thought you knew about platforming games and turned them on their head - before letting you interact with everything on a 3D plain, putting you in control of the camera itself for the very first time. Sure these days we've all become more than accustomed to simultaneously dodging out the way of an enemy attack whilst healing and spinning the perspective to get a bead on whatever's approaching behind us, but back in 1996 this was a bonafide revolution. Y'know when you come across those people who point to any modern band and say they wouldn't exist if it weren't for The Beatles, Led Zeppelin or Hendrix? Mario 64 is the gaming equivalent, except that for him and the titles he inspired it's far easier to see exactly where modern works got their inspiration from.
