Back to overarching stuff, and just how the hell do Bioware come up with the idea of travelling to an entirely new galaxy, only for the most 'alien' thing you see being floating rocks?

Literally, there are only four new races (of which only two have faces) a smattering of planets ranging from - wait for it - deserts to neon jungles and ice planets, and alien weaponry that extends to such outside-the-box visuals as... beam weapons.

This is obviously a huge thing to 'fix', but the general approach to a new galaxy should've felt as much. The Kett will occasionally turn into mist versions of themselves, so, y'know, cool, but where's the actual art direction that showcases this approach across the board?

Alien ships that move and fly in a way that breaks our understanding of physics, enemies that don't walk on two legs and speak with where their mouths 'should' be, planets that modulate and move in a fashion that requires specifically crafted equipment to even 'stand' on... Yes, you need some elements to be somewhat relatable or the whole thing is a bit of a mess, but Bioware played Andromeda's take on a new galaxy SO close to their chest, it comes across as utterly uninspired.
