The aforementioned MK vs DC established that the two franchises were a great mix, but what happens when you take MK's mechanics and place them solely in a DC environment? Why, you get Injustice! Not in the literal sense, mind you. NetherRealm's lovingly crafted tale of alternate dimensions does wonders for DC and the gameplay itself is still the same, intricate style we've grown accustomed to in Mortal Kombat. Characters have some absolutely savage move-sets, with 'Fatalities' now being replaced by some really gratuitous moves - a favourite being Doomsday sending his opponents flying through the earth's core, pummelling them all away. The actual story itself is great too, featuring parallel worlds, dictatorial Supermen, a Batman resistance led by the Caped Crusader and Harley Quinn, and The Joker being, well... The Joker. Not all the characters are balanced and the stages can get repetitive too, but for sheer PVP combat, Injustice deserves its spot in the top tier of DC games.
