7. Finally Getting Good At Sword Combat - Kingdom Come: Deliverance

At the start of Kingdom Come you'll be a literal "son of a blacksmith", knowing next to nothing about combat other than the real-world idea of "Well... suppose I should try and swing this sword..."

The result is getting completely flattened by even the town drunk, but over the course of 20+ hours getting your head around how combat works; the specific directional slices, when to use combos, how to preserve stamina and even which weapon to hold, it all starts to click.

Suddenly you'll find yourself accepting quests to tackle bandit camps with a renewed confidence. You'll see thieves and pillagers come at you with that same flailing approach, only now you can read their movements, counter and finish them off with effective swipes and stabs.

Props to developers Warhorse for making this process so belaboured. In the end, I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
