12 Big-Budget Video Games That Launched Completely Broken

9. Skyrim

As you may begin to realise none of the games on this list are categorically bad - in fact a handful of them are truly great when they're not being hampered by programming glitches - as Skyrim proves that even with a ridiculous amount of such things, it can still win multiple Game of the Year awards.
Ask any Skyrim player and they'll tell you tales of backwards-flying dragons, mission-giving characters disappearing into the floor, or enemy wildlife slowly floating off into the distance. It's all pretty funny stuff as for the most part aside from shattering any sense of immersion it's fairly harmless, but on launch a particular PS3 bug saw the game almost self-destruct. Users reported a particularly debilitating error whereby if your save got to a certain size - through progression within the game world - the PS3 version would slowly start to stutter more and more, before giving up completely. We tend to make excuses for Bethesda because the sheer size and scope of their worlds is utterly unmatched, but when fans can't even play long enough to see it - despite what half-broken state it may be in - that's a huge problem.
