12 Gaming Sequels That Aren't In Development (But Really Should Be)

3. Burnout Paradise 2

Arguably the best online racing game ever made, Burnout Paradise delivered the innovation that the flagging series was sorely in need of. By switching the game to an always-online title that focused on how you engaged with other players, Criterion Games had ensured to keep the franchise relevant as online modes began to become the norm in most notable video game series. Despite strong acclaim and impressive sales, there hasn't been a core Burnout game released since, to the bafflement of just about everybody. All Criterion would need to do is retain the brilliant formula of Paradise, change the maps and cars, and add Crash mode back in, and you've got a bonafide smash hit title right there. Why Criterion are so unwilling to move forward with it may simply be because of their later work on the Need for Speed franchise, which is slowly becoming indistinguishable from the Burnout franchise anyway.
