12 Gaming Sequels That Aren't In Development (But Really Should Be)

7. Portal 3

Though Portal 2 did admittedly tie up most of the series' loose ends story-wise, the concept behind these these games is so genius that there needs to be another game. Many joke that Gabe Newell is averse to making games with the number 3 in them, but owing to the series' unexpected popularity, Valve needs to come up with a way for the portal gun to make a comeback. It doesn't need to feature Chell or even GLaDOS, but the core gameplay, of navigating increasingly difficult puzzles using a portal gun, needs to be retained. Portal is a credit to the intelligence of Valve as a company and indeed, gaming as a medium, but they need to continue to be smart by getting to work on the next one. It might even distract us a little from the other third game we're still waiting for them to deliver on (though I'll get to that later).
