3. "One-Winged Angel" - Final Fantasy VII's Final Boss Safer-Sephiroth Theme
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7wJ8pE2qKU Without question, the most famous single piece of music ever composed from any Final Fantasy game. It's not even close. Such prominence amongst the general consciousness has led to a certain rebellion amongst fans in more recent years; seeing it as a track overrated simply by its fame alone. Whilst there is a certain substance to its overplayed status, one can't deny the impact this track made at the apex of Final Fantasy's most famous and beloved game. The opening chimes atop of a black screen; the worship-like chanting of his name "Sephiroth" and the recurring motif of the gongs returning in the middle. This track is iconic and as overplayed as it might be, not one of these lists would be complete without it. You know a track has truly reached superstar status when there aren't too many words you can think of to say, that haven't already been said.
